I received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Business Administration and Human Resources from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA. Towards the end of my undergraduate degree, I began working in the federal government as a Human Resources Specialist in Employee and Labor Relations assisting in mediation, conflict resolution, & employee-management relationships for roughly 5+ years. In 2008, I graduated with a Master of Arts (MA) in Counseling & Psychology from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and became a Licensed Professional Counselor (TX) in 2011. In the state of California, I diligently worked to become a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), #87678. Additionally, I'm a National Board Certified Counselor with the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). My training ranges from group psychotherapy, child and family therapy, and couples counseling with various populations. I love incorporating relational concerns to each individual's life as relationships exist in both professional and personal settings every day. My true niche however, is working with the military whom I've been humbled to work with for the last 10 years. Lastly, I'm a PsyD (doctorate) student at Alliant International University in the Couple and Family Therapy program while working towards certification in Hypnotherapy (both of which I'm loving!)
Fun fact: I've lived in over 13 different cities, nationally and internationally and am fluent in..... English! I was born and raised in Germany (as a military child) and also in Hawaii in my adolescent years. Other things about me: I believe in the power of spirituality, creativity, finding meaning in even the nothingness, and approaching life with curiosity, awe, and wonder. I love a good yoga session when I connect with my ujjayi breath (deep breathing). I'm deathly allergic to indoor gyms and much prefer trail running in the fresh air. And most importantly, I cherish time with friends and family.
I love to dabble with playing the piano and guitar occasionally, singing, writing poetry, and quilting. Last and certainly not least, I am incredibly blessed & grateful for my husband Leon (a U.S. military combat veteran). We've been married for 12 years and have a beautiful son together. Last but not least, our family mascot is our fur baby Shih Tzu!
